Synod on Synodality has created awareness among the people in relation to their participation and mission in the Church and the participation of women especially in every undertaking. Hence the National office for Commission for Women organized a Leadership Training program for all the women of the Hindi Speaking Dioceses at Varanasi.
The leadership training is being held to awaken the ‘sleeping power within oneself’, and to acknowledge the power and strength which the Lord has implanted in women. 89 participants from 5 regions are attending the program.
In His message Most Rev. Eugene Joseph the Bishop of Varanasi Diocese, said “it is not appropriate to say women are being empowered…. you are already empowered long ago…. today there is a need to live along…In the beginning of creation, God created woman to make man complete… so, we need to live as to make our world, our family, our society complete…. Being complete is by co operation, by creating lovely society….. he quoted Holy Father Pope Francis saying…. we need to wake up the sleeping Goliath… the sleeping Goliath is the pilgrim Laity Church…. for a Synodal Church….”
Rev. Sr. Lidwin Fernandes UFS the resource person for the program gave ample opportunities to the participants to boost the self confidence of the participants and also build up their own dynamism in their daily lives. Later, the participants will make a pilgrimage to the famous Cathedral Parish of the Diocese and other places.
