Fr Wilfred Gregory Moras New Coadjutor Bishop of Jhansi

Bangalore 11 May 2024 (CCBI): The Holy Father Pope Francis has appointed Fr Wilfred Gregory Moras (55), of the clergy of Lucknow, as the Coadjutor Bishop of the Diocese of Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. Currently he is the ector of the St. Joseph’s Regional Seminary, in the diocese of Allahabad.

Fr Wilfred Gregory Moras was born on 13 February 1969 in Neerude, in the diocese of Mangalore and studied Philosophy and Theology at St. Joseph’s Regional Seminary in the Diocese of Allahabad. He was ordained priest on 27 April 1997 for the Diocese of Lucknow.

He has held the following duties and conducted further studies: Trainer at St. Paul’s Minor Seminary in Lucknow (1997-1999); Bishop’s Secretary (1999-2002); Vice President of St. Ann’s School in Palia (2002-2003); Bachelor of Studies in Missiology at the Pontifical Urban University in Rome (2003-2006); Chairman and Director of the St. Francis School and Hostel in Nigohan (2007-2008); Chairman of St. Anthony’s School in Barabanki (2008-2013); Doctorate in Missiology at the Pontifical Urban University in Rome (2013-2016); Director of the Nav Sadhna Regional Pastoral Centre in Varanasi (2017-2021). From 2021 he is Rector of St. Joseph’s Regional Seminary in Allahabad.
