Fr. Arul Raj Appointed as CCBI Family Commission Secretary

Bangalore 7 October, 2022 (CCBI): Fr. Arul Raj Gali, CSC is appointed as the Executive Secretary of the CCBI Commission for Family. He belongs to the Congregation for Holy Cross, the Province of South India. The appointment was made by the Executive Committee meeting of the CCBI held on 21 September, 2022, Bangalore.

Fr. Arul Raj was born on 4 November 1953, at Manambathy Kandigai, Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu. He joined the Congregation of Holy Cross of the Province of South India and made his first profession on 26 May 1975 and final profession on 15 September 1980. He was ordained priest on 5 May 1981. He is the alumni of St. Joseph’s High School, Trichy, St. Joseph’s College, Bangalore. He did his philosophy and theology studies at Jnana Deepa, Pune.

He was the rector of the formation house in Aymanam, Kottayam, Kerala (1981-1987); rector formation house in Somarasampettai, Trichy (1987-1989); master at Holy Cross novitiate, Yercaud, Salem (1991-1998), served the Holy Cross Generalate, Rome (1998-2004), Director of Holy Cross Family Ministries, Bangalore (2011-2020) and Director of the Peyton Institute for Families, Bangalore (2020 -2022). He was the former Executive Secretary of the CCBI Commission for Family (2007-2011).

The CCBI Family Commission Secretariat is in Shanti Sadan, Benaulim, Goa and he will operate from the CCBI Secretariat in Goa from the first week of December, 2022 onwards.
