Goa 23 August 2022 (CCBI): CCBI Training of the first batch of diocesan Vicar Generals and Chancellors was inaugurated by His Excellency Most Rev. Derek Fernandes, Bishop of Belgaum and the Chairman of the CCBI Commission for Canon Law and Legislative Texts on Tuesday 23 August, 2022 at Shanti Sadan, Benaulim Goa. Rev. Dr. Stephen Alathara Deputy Secretary General and Rev. Fr. Duming Gonsalves the Administrator of the Shanti Sadan were present at the inaugural meeting.
The CCBI organises the diocesan administration training for the officials of the diocesan curia to enhance the quality of the ecclesial administration and also to equip them to administer the diocese with mission orientation. There were twenty participants of Vicar Generals and Chancellors attended the first batch of intense training conducted from 23 to 27 August, 2022.
Justice Filomeno Manuel Reis, Mr. Sunil Gonsalves, CA, Rev. Dr. Stephen Alathara, Rev. Dr Jose Remedios Fernandes, Rev. Dr. Aleixo Menezes, Rev. Dr. Romeo Monteiro, Rev. Dr. Rosario Oilveira, Rev. Dr. Nelson Siqueira and Rev. Fr. Barry Cardozo were the resources persons for the various sessions.
The participants also made pilgrimage to Sé Cathedral, Old Goa, Church of the Cross of Miracles, Old Goa, St. Joseph Vaz Centre, Old Goa, Tomb of Agnel, Pilar, St Joseph Vaz, Church, Sancoale, St. John Baptist Church, Benaulim and celebrated Holy Mass at Bom Jesus Basilica, Old Goa.
