Bangalore 31 July 2021 (CCBI): Pope Francis has accepted the resignation from the pastoral governance of the Diocese of Nalgonda presented by Most Rev. Joji Govindu (77) on Saturday, 31 July, 2021.
Bishop Joji was born on 3 May 1944, in Dharmaram in Nalgonda district, Andhra Pradesh state. He was ordained priest on 26 December1969, and appointed bishop of Nalgonda on 21 April 1997. His episcopal ordination was on 24 June 1997. He was the administrator of Vijayawada diocese from 2012 – 2016.
