Bangalore 10 May 2024: The CCBI has appointed Sr. Jenifer Prafulla D’Souza as the new Coordinator of the Health Apostolate. Sr. Jenifer, 49, is a member of the Sisters of the Mercy of Holy Cross, Mid India Province. This appointment was made during the 94th Executive Committee meeting held from 7th to 8th May 2024 in Bangalore.
Sr. Jenifer was born on December 4th, 1974, in Manoor, Neermarga, at St. Joseph Church, Mangalore, Karnataka. She received her primary education at St. Ligoury’s Higher Primary School and pursued her high schooling at Rajeshwar Higher Secondary School, both in her hometown. From an early age, she felt drawn to a religious life, with her interest solidifying around 6th grade. After completing her 10th grade in 1990, she joined the congregation, later taking her first profession in November 1997, followed by her final profession in 2005.
Her educational journey took her to Bokaro, Jharkhand, for her Pre-University Course (PUC), then to Fr. Mullers in Mangalore for her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc Nursing), and later to P.G. College of Nursing in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, for her Master of Science in Nursing (M.Sc Nursing). In 2015, she completed a certificate course in Basic Counselling Skills from Montfort College, Sampurna, Bangalore. Currently pursuing her Ph.D. from Shri Venkateswara University in Gajraula. Presently, she holds the position of Vice Principal at Holy Cross College of Nursing in Ambikapur, Chhattisgarh
Throughout her career, Sr. Jenifer has been active in various ministries and activities. She has been deeply involved in youth ministry and is a part of the Jesus Youth ministry. Currently, she works in the Nurses ministry in Chhattisgarh. From the time she joined the congregation, she has been actively engaged in mission work, demonstrating a strong commitment to her mission. Her commitment to education and leadership roles further exemplifies her dedication to serving others and her ongoing professional development.
