Regional CCBI Strategic Plan Workshops Have Begun

Telugu Regional Level CCBI Strategic Plan Workshop Inaugurated

Hyderabad, July 18, 2023 (CCBI): The Strategic Planning Regional Workshop by the CCBI for the Telugu Region began on July 18, 2023, at the Montfort Social Institute (MSI), Uppal, Hyderabad, and will conclude on July 20. The Most Rev. Joseph Raja Rao, S.M.M., Secretary General, Telugu Catholic Bishops’ Council (TCBC), and Bishop of Vijayawada inaugurated the three-day workshop.

“The Church in India needs documentation to take action in our pastoral engagements, and it is a need of the time. The CCBI Strategic Planning is going to make us more fruitful than successful in our pastoral engagements,” said Bishop Raja Rao.

54 participants from the 12 dioceses of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana of the TCBC are actively participating as stakeholders in building the Church in India. Fr. Raju Alex, Regional Deputy Secretary of the TCBC, welcomed and introduced the CCBI Core Team. Fr. Charles Leon, Coordinator of the Core Team, introduced the nature and purpose of the regional workshop. Msgr. Anthony Chourappa, the Administrator of Karnool Diocese, facilitated the gathering, and Bro. Varghese Theckanath, Director of MSI, introduced the centre to the participants. Fr. Joe Xavier SJ, the chief facilitator of CCBI Strategic Planning, continued the sessions.
