Bangalore 29 November, 2019 (CCBI): Most Rev. Dr. Joseph Antony Irudayaraj (84), SDB, Bishop Emeritus of Dharmapuri, Tamil Nadu, passed away on Friday 29 November at 10.30 am at Chennai.
The funeral Holy Mass will be offered at the New Cathedral Site, Pastoral Centre, near Maduraabaai, Kalyana Mandabam, Annasagaram, Barathi Nagar, Dharmapuri, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, 30 November 2019. Thereafter, the burial will take place at New Catheral Site.
He was born on 4th October, 1935 and ordained Priest on 20th April, 1965. At the age of 61 he was ordained Bishop of Dharmapuri on 24 April 1997. He was retired from the pastoral governance on 13th January, 2012 at the age of 76. He was a Priest for 54 years and a Bishop for 22 years.
